CAMP FACILITIES: Our camps take place in our theater and surrounding spaces. We have a mainstage, a green room/rehearsal room with mirrors, and some outdoor rehearsal space. We also share space with the Foster City Recreation department, and a local school.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Hillbarn Theatre Conservatory, formed in 2000, is a theatre arts education program serving the needs of youth and adolescents, ages 4-18, in Foster City and the mid-peninsula area.

• An in-depth, training ground for young people who want to learn any aspect of theatre and performance.

Kimble’s enthusiasm for music led to a professional career in music as a performing artist and music educator. Kimble has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Music Education from Jackson State University. He also has a Master of Education Degree in School Counseling and serves as a board member of the Mississippi Musicians’ Hall of Fame. He has served as the facilitator for classes that focused on learning problem solving skills as a tool for 6th graders which helps them see the value in goal setting, learning social skill sets and to focus on behavior management using music therapy, mindfulness, and relaxation methods

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Music Technology Mentors Innovative Music Technology Afterschool Enrichment Program, you’ll focus on the creative, often experimental, blending of music and technology. You’ll do much more than learn how to record music. You’ll also learn how to compose, synthesize, and perform music; score for film, games, and other multimedia; and develop software and multimedia. Topics of study include music theory and history, acoustics, recording technology, computer composition, electronic music synthesis, technology-based performance, 3-D sound and spatial audio, and music business and law.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our bright and sunny 3rd floor studio houses 2 full size pianos and a full size keyboard, as well as plenty of other instruments and a performance stage.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The seed of Sessions Songwriting and Music sprung to life in 2007 when its founder, Lauren Bruns, was discussing with a good friend and mother of two that there was a gaping hole in many of the musical programs offered in Los Angeles. Not one school was offering a songwriting component in which kids could express themselves through words and music simultaneously.

Lauren knew firsthand how songwriting benefited her life as a young adult and set out on a mission to create an easy-to-follow curriculum that inspired kids of all musical levels to create and express themselves through original lyrics and music. Our summer camps are led by real musicians who encourage kids to be creative while learning and having fun.

Sessions teachers are graduates of USC, Berklee and other performing arts programs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: YEA Camp is a unique and inspiring leadership summer camp for youth 12-17 who care about community service, activism and social justice. A week-long sleep-away program in a beautiful camp location, YEA is designed to be a fun and transformative experience that builds life-long friendships between youth with similar interests. Our program also provides a meaningful opportunity for campers to learn more about some of the issues facing our planet and to get inspired and empowered to take action on those issues.

Campers choose an issue of importance to them (for example, some have chosen climate change, racism, homophobia, homelessness, animal rights) and at YEA they build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and community to take action on that issue long after camp is over. Youth who have participated in our programs report that the camp was one of the most fun, rewarding and life-changing experiences they have had, and, with YEA's community support, have gone on to start school clubs, plan fundraisers for nonprofits, organize community clean-ups, and attend hearings to comment about important community issues.

CAMP FACILITIES: Mariposa Day Camp, located in Altadena, offers themed weeks with several different emphases for girls to choose from. Girls participate in new and traditional Girl Scouts activities while making new friends, developing self-esteem and making lasting memories. Introducing new and exciting activities this summer such as a brand new gaga court, low ropes and team building activities plus kids kitchen which gives each girl the opportunity to prepare a fun and different snack each week. The themes for each week provide additional activities and enjoyment for the campers. All day camps include daily snacks, a camp souvenir, any badges earned, and a 4X6 camp group photo. Let’s journey back in time to when Laura Ingalls Wilder was a young girl. CAMP FACILITIES: We have multiple state-of-the-art dormitories, outdoor pool, all air conditioned facilities, recreation/dining hall, amphitheater, movie theater, and can accommodate all special meal needs (gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.).

These tracks are campers' concentration for each session. All instruction takes place in small group lessons and is led by experienced and enthusiastic female musicians, producers, artists, and teachers.

MEALS
Food, glorious food! All meals are delicious and included. Breakfast is typically served between 7:00–8:00 am; lunch is around 12:00 pm; and dinner is usually around 6:00 pm. This is subject to change, so please keep your ears perked throughout the day for announcements to make sure you don’t miss a meal. We offer both vegan and omnivore options and healthy snacks are available throughout the day.

SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST PERFORMANCES
Every session, a different band plays a live set for the girls and then sticks around for an intimate Q&A. In our end of program survey this was a major highlight for the girls. They learned about different genres of music and had a fun time listening to the bands and getting to engage in meaningful discussions with the visiting artists.

FINAL SHOWCASE
At the end of the session, all campers show off their original work at the Final Showcase for the whole camp community!

THE FACILITY
Amplify Sleep Away Camp is very proudly in residence at Besant Hill School. Set in the mountains of Ojai, California, this amazing facility boasts one of the best views in Ventura County. Campers have private, air-conditioned residence halls, a private pool, a movie theatre for evening films, and delicious meals provided (dietary restrictions honored).

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in cabins (or if they are really lucky teepees) with a staff member in each cabin or teepee. Cabins/teepees have six bunk beds and are solid wood structures with canvas flaps covering the windows and the door. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Students will be introduced to a simple engineering process based on these five steps: Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Ask. Students not only learn science principles, but they will create robots that move objects, find their own way around obstacles, play soccer, respond to light or motion, navigate through a maze, and even challenge other robots. Robot Edutainment is looking for Moms, Students, Recent Graduates, and Any Individual interested in teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education in after-school programs in the Los Angeles area.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Levels: There will be four levels at the camp: MathCounts/AMC-8, AMC10/12, AIME, and USAMO.

Curriculum: Each week will be devoted to one of the four main areas. The focus will be on Number Theory and Algebra/Analysis in Period-I and Geometry and Combinatorics in Period-II.

The students will be equipped with necessary background in lectures and trained with different types of problems to master various problem solving techniques. CAMP FACILITIES: Most camp activities take place in the gardens and courtyards of the beautiful and historic Temple/Bixby home, an original adobe structure dating to the late 1800s. Through a sustained community effort, the site has many original items, and has been preserved and restored professionally to help create an authentic experience for visitors.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The program, now in its 8th year, provides affordable, well supervised, and engaging historic activities, games, and craft projects on the beautiful grounds of the Temple/Bixby adobe, one of the oldest structures in Long Beach. In addition to sack and three legged races, cow chipping, and charades, children will also create a variety of take home crafts like tooled leather, tin punch lanterns, and herb sachets.

The camp's programs create a fun and festive atmosphere for participants, yet still help to shape some understanding about living and working in Old California. Each week has a unique focus, and some themed activities, but also will include many of the fun things kids look forward to who come for multiple weeks.

Example activities include herding, leather tooling, sack races, charades, songs & stories, cowboy vests, croquet, boot craft, Western dancing, tissue paper flowers, tin punch lanterns, making adobe, and mud pies.

The camp is staffed by trained teenage volunteers who have an established involvement with the Rancho, and who are supervised by Dr. Meighan Maguire, PhD in Communications from UCSD.
