CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our staff is composed MIT, Stanford and Columbia alumni. Our instructors are PhD students, software engineers at FAANG companies and Fulbright scholars. We have won awards for our research.

We are mentoring the next generation of computational thinkers, interdisciplinary researchers and changemakers. Our advanced theory and application based curriculum is student-led and covers all the hottest topics in research and industry. We provide the tools for students so that they can get accepted to their dream colleges and thrive in college and beyond.

The MehtA+ Tutoring teaching team has taught more than 300 students who have received 30+ scores on their ACT, perfect scores on SAT subject tests, learned some of the most in-demand skills in the job market and have been admitted to some of the top most universities in the countries such as MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, UPenn, Carnegie Mellon, University of Toronto, Johns Hopkins and UIUC.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: At MehtA+, we ignite student passion for engineering. Our offerings are catered towards students from Kindergarten to College Freshman and involve a fusion of the humanities and the sciences. We believe the best way to learn something is to apply it and as such, all of our opportunities are application-based.

Our bootcamps give students an in-depth opportunity to learn concepts that are normally taught at the university level, while our workshops serve as a fantastic introduction to a new subject. In order to make engineering education more accessible, our digital kits are always free to everyone and allow students to create something awesome. Volunteerships are offered to former students who are looking to volunteer their time and apply what they have learned for social good, as they intern for one of our clients.

Our college preparatory services, which involve subject tutoring, standardized test preparation and college consulting, provide students the resources they need to be ready for college.

Cost: $3,000 (scholarships of up to $2,000 will be provided to students who exhibit financial need)

CAMP FACILITIES: The on-site casita village is composed of 28 rustic, Santa Fe-style houses. Each casita has multiple, private bedrooms that share a central living room and large kitchen (although all meals and snacks are provided in a central location for the 2017 Biosphere 2 Summer Science Academy). Bathrooms are generally shared (suite-style) among a couple of bedrooms. The oversized rooms feature high-speed, wireless internet access and central air conditioning.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Student participants will learn and practice science 'under-the-glass', participating in hands-on research projects in the Biosphere 2 biomes: tropical rainforest, savanna, ocean, mangrove marsh, and coastal fog desert. Participants will apply scientific skills to conduct experiments and collect data while working side-by-side with Biosphere 2 researchers. The week will culminate with presentations of research findings. All instruction and activities are conducted in English.

The ratio of researchers/counselors to students is at least 1:8. The Academy staff also includes UA Outreach Scholars who will chaperone the casitas. The Outreach Scholars are college undergraduate and graduate students drawn from the University of Arizona.

Participants will learn:

* how to use the biological world as a source of inspiration for designing robots, and how to translate those principles into a set of engineering design goals.
* how to ideate, prototype, and synthesize robotic devices through folded mechanisms, and how force, torque, and motion can be tuned through these structures to make robots move better.
* Coding a microcontroller to generate motion with an RC servo-motor.
* how to take real-world data from a foldable robot and use physical models to improve robot performance

This week-long, hands-on, project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication. The camp will culminate with a final build -- that students can program to move through the environment -- along with a Friday afternoon exposition for parents.

In addition to industry experience, our instructors must complete 40 hours of training on how to teach each of our BFIT, AFIT, EFIT, IFIT and LFIT curriculum's.

Future Investor Clubs, Chapters and Centers are eligible to select lead teachers and instructors to attend CFIT training programs. Individuals completing our instructor comprehensive training programs earn the designation of Certified Financial Intelligence Trainer TM (CFIT). At our summer camp, campers choose their own Summer Learning Adventures! Each weekly session allows campers to pick from two morning block (9am-12pm) choices and two afternoon block (1pm-4pm) choices. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s innovative Summer Art and Architecture Camps give students the opportunity to think and work outside the box. Located at Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and desert laboratory, the Summer Art and Architecture Camps will encourage students to explore, create, and design in the significant setting. Students will see how their unique ideas can have a true impact on the world around them, as they engage in the fun and educational activities.

Full and half-day camps are offered to students in grades 2-12 throughout the summer, but the Foundation offers year-round education opportunities and field trips to the National Historic Landmark.

Are newest camp to our program is called Designing for Mars! In this Cam participants will study the planet Mars while they collaboratively tackle some of the same challenges confronting scientists in their effort to travel and live on Mars. Other Camps include Wright for the Future, Architectural Discovery, Design Your Dream Space, and Photographing Wright!

Architectural Discovery

While in the Architectural Discovery camp, younger students will explore various aspects of architecture and learn about some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous architectural concepts. Architecture-based activities and projects will promote the students’ creativity and imagination, while explaining the different patterns in nature and how the patterns influence architecture. Students will also get the opportunity to make an abstract art piece inspired by Wright’s stained glass. (Limited to 20 students)

Design Your Dream Space

Students become junior architects as they use art, math, science, and language to create innovative spaces. This immersive program takes students through the steps of architectural creation – from concept to execution – of a fully detailed three-dimensional model of their own compact dream space. Dealing with the needs and desires of clients, environmental and sustainability concerns, and questions about color and style are part of the daily life of an architect. Students will discover how careful consideration each of these elements contribute to a great design. (Limited to 20 students)

Photographing Wright

The landmark architecture of Taliesin West is the backdrop for a weeklong photographic journey. Local Arizona photographer Andrew Pielage will guide students in capturing the Sonoran Desert and National Historic Landmark around them. Students learn the tools needed to best utilize a camera including aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, while applying creative approaches to composition, image framing, and the challenges of light and shadow. (Limited to 10 students) Students must provide their own fully manual camera and corresponding USB cable. It is highly encouraged that students provide their own laptop for editing photographs.

Wright for the Future

Students explore how to respond to real world challenges such as global warming, pollution, new trends in energy and communication technologies, advancements in construction methods, and new modes of transportation in this project-based camp. Designing for Mars

*NEW*

Camp participants will study the planet Mars while they collaboratively tackle some of the same challenges confronting scientists in their effort to travel and live on Mars. Students will learn about Wright’s futuristic concept of Broadacre City, as they investigate how to create a new community that meets their needs for food, water, power, and shelter. At the end of the project week, the students use their 2D plans to create a 3D model their new colony on Mars.

- 2 large rehearsal spaces (complete with drums, amps, keyboard, microphones, and sound system)

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: We believe the best way to learn music is to play music. We take students from the lesson room to the stage, developing both their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels.

School of Rock teaches guitar, bass, vocals, keyboards, drums and combines weekly private music instruction and group band rehearsals to prepare students to take the stage in front of live audiences in an authentic concert setting.

Our instructors live to play and play to live. They are experienced professional musicians that can instruct students on the finer points of their instrument, while at the same time educating them on everything that goes into putting on a great live show.

We teach and perform music on professional equipment that our students love to play and our audiences love to hear. From the fundamental roots of rock and roll through classic rock, funk, reggae, heavy metal, alternative, indie and prog rock - we share, engage and celebrate it all.

Each session totals $500. $250 deposit required for enrollment. Camp is 100% refundable up to one month prior to the start date, 50% refundable up to one week prior to the start date, non-refundable if cancelled the day of the camp.
