BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: The Boston Boston Model UN Academy is designed to help current 8th and 9th grade students take their Model UN skills to the next level: becoming a skilled public speaker, developing problem-solving skills, and having an enjoyable summer experience with energetic and experienced instructors. Students can enroll with any level of Model UN experience, and will be place in one of three rooms accordingly. Additionally, each of our students receives individual attention and feedback, which is enabled by our 10:1 student/instructor ratio and daily feedback sessions. CAMP LOCATION: We are located at Lasell University's suburban college campus in Newton, Massachusetts. It is located in close proximity to The Massachusetts Turnpike and the City of Boston.
CAMP FACILITIES: We maintain three large classrooms—each with room for approximately twenty students—to operate the Boston Model UN Academy.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Boston Model UN Academy was established by Jack Botein, a rising first-year student at Harvard College, with the intention of providing an enjoyable summer experience for students to learn key Model UN skills. Our instructors—Jack, Patrick, and Alice—worked together as co-presidents of the Model UN club at The Beaver Country Day School. They have accumulated more than 20 awards at nationwide Model UN competitions and have jointly instructed weekly Model UN classes to students at Beaver for the last two years.
OTHER CAMP INFO: Through the Boston Model UN Academy, your child will gain a robust understanding of Model UN, become a skilled public speaker and effective problem-solver, all while having a good time! Our programs are designed for students entering grades 9 and 10 with any level of Model UN experience. Each student will be placed in a classroom tailored to their existing Model UN skill level, ensuring the optimal learning environment. Additionally, each of our students receives individual attention and feedback, which is enabled by our 10:1 student/instructor ratio. Act fast and secure a spot, as availability is limited.
